35 weeks!

How far along? 35 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 23
Stretch marks? nothing new as of late...
Sleep: Was ok this week.  Since having the stone removed and having the stent in place, I have been waking up every 2-3 hours to use to bathroom.  I think its a combination of pregnancy and the stent irritating my bladder.  Hoping once the stent is removed on Thursday that I will see some improvement in this department.
Best moment this week: OMG where do I begin!  Being kidney stone free, the baby and I making it safely through surgery and getting my midline removed!  I'm officially off iv antibiotics and don't have to visit the infectious disease Dr. anymore which is awesome!  Need less to say, there was a lot of Best moments this week!!
Movement: Yep!  He/She is happier now too that we are kidney stone free :)
Food cravings: I craved rice krispy treats this week, bought a container from Target and ate all of them in about 3 days!
Gender: We are waiting till the Baby's Birthday to find out!
Labor Signs: only Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? OUT
What I miss: Noting having to constantly pee!  The nephrostomy tube had one good side effect, it drained half my urine output so I went to the bathroom like a normal person as opposed to every other pregnant women who visits the bathroom every hour.  This is going to take some getting used to although I'm super excited to be rid of my pee bag :)
What I am looking forward to: Enjoying the rest of my pregnancy as a normal, tubeless person.  Oh and Thursday morning I get my stent removed and will finish my last round of antibiotics.  After that I will officially have all of these kidney stone issues behind me.
Weekly Wisdom: THANK GOD FOR MODERN MEDICINE!!
Milestones: 35/35 - meaning I'm 35 weeks and have 35 days till my due date!  Also Baby's kidneys are fully developed, isn't that ironic :)

Easter Bunny

We took Thomas to visit the Easter Bunny last weekend and I had to share the comparison shot from last year.  Last year he was sooo tiny!!!

Easter!

Yesterday was Easter and we celebrated by going to Jason's Aunt Patty's house with a family lunch and dinner and egg hunt for the kids.  Thomas and I never got a chance to "practice" egg hunting as this would be the first Easter he would actually be able to participate in the egg hunt so I wasn't sure if he would understand what to do or not.  Well my worries were put to rest about 20 seconds into the egg hunt, he totally got it although he kept putting the eggs in the other kid's baskets.  About half of his eggs were dispersed between the girl's baskets but that's alright, he had a great time and we got some cute pictures!

KIDNEY STONE FREE!!!

This past Thursday, April 21st Dr. Lemoine became my best friend and made me KIDNEY STONE FREE!!

The surgery went "text book well" per the Dr.'s words.  The anesthesiologist decided not to put me under as he felt it was better for the baby just to do a spinal block.  I was awake during the procedure and was able to watch on the screens the whole progress which was pretty neat.  He found the stone fairly quickly and had to use the laser about 10 times to break it up.  Then he took a basket and grabbed as much of the remnants that he could before putting in a very small stint that will keep the ureter open for 1 week to help it heal and pass the pieces as easily as possible.  I had to be at the hospital at 9am and by 11:30 I was numb and on the surgery table.  The procedure took about 1 hour and I was in recovery from 12:30-5 before heading home.  Because of the spinal I had no stomach or grogginess issues.  I had to take pain pills for about 1 day as my bladder felt very sore.  They said to expect 2-3 days of soreness but it's been about 1.5 days and I already feel 90%.

I couldn't be happier, no pre term labor, stone is gone, nephrostomy tube is gone, and in a few hours I get it to stop taking the iv antibiotics and get the midline out of my arm!!  Thank you everyone for all of your kind words, thoughts and prayers!  We are so lucky to have so many great friends and family members who were all thinking of us during my procedure and over the last 4 months.  It was the most perfect outcome to a long journey.  Now to focus on just the baby growing healthy and strong to my due date of May 30th in less than 6 weeks!

Here is a picture that Jason took of me before surgery....hotness but I have to share :)

Splash Pad!

Since Mommy felt guilty that Thomas couldn't participate at the Lowry Park Zoo splash pads we decided we would take him to the local one.  It was our first time and Thomas had a ball!  He wasn't ready to leave, he kept running up to the spouts and laughing when the water would come up.  So cute!  Daddy and I definitely had some good laughs watching him run around and get surprised by the water in his face.  Looking forward to more trips this Summer with the new baby :)
hmmmm....what's this??

holy moly!

trying to figure it out...

oh!  my eyes ;)

center of the pad loving it!

now i get it!  the water comes from here and i LOVE it!

Cousins!

Jason's Brother and his family left bright and early this morning to head back home.  We had such a great time just hanging out with them and watching the 4 kids interact.  The older kids were so awesome with Thomas and he loved putting on a show for them!  Whenever we are all together we wish we lived closer and could spend more time together, dang it life, why are you not always fair!?!

Here are pictures from our trip to Disney.  I wasn't good with my camera and hopefully they will send me some pictures once they get home and settled.

Lowry Park ZOO

This past Saturday we took a trip to Tampa with Jason's Brother and his family to visit Lowry Park Zoo.  We had a great time and Thomas enjoyed the animals but also loved just running around.  They had a few small rides, a petting zoo area and lots of animals.  For a local Zoo I think it was pretty cute!  Next time we go we will have to bring the little man's swim suit because they had a lot of splash pads he couldn't participate in that he would have LOVED!  If anyone is looking for something fun to do this is definitely worth the drive, it took us just over an hour to get there.

34 weeks!

How far along? 34 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 22 - So happy when I stepped on the scale this week and noticed that I hadn't gained all that weight in one week, just must have been a bad day.
Stretch marks? nothing new as of late...
Sleep: Slept so well this whole week.  I'm so thankful to still be sleeping well these last few weeks and not having to get up more than 3 times a night is definitely something to be very thankful for at this point in pregnancy.
Best moment this week: This has been a rough week mentally.  On Tuesday I went to my infectious disease Dr. where she told me that she wouldn't remove the stone, then on Wednesday afternoon she called me, told me I had a 3rd infection and recommended I revisit the idea of having the stone removed.  I then called my OB, got an appointment her and she agreed that I should now consider having stone removed.  I was lucky enough to get an appointment on that same day with my Urologist and he is ok with attempting the surgery.  So, now we look forward to Thursday where they will attempt to remove the stone and hopefully all of the infections, tubes and issues go away from Baby #2 and I.  So, the best moment this week, is the HOPE that this could ALL be over with VERY SOON!!  Fingers crossed!!
Movement: Yep!  More rolling and trying to escape from the belly than sweet little kicks.
Food cravings: Sweets for sure.  I've wanted something sweet everyday and usually give in ;)
Gender: We are waiting till the Baby's Birthday to find out!
Labor Signs: only Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? OUT and poking through shirts like crazy.
What I miss: Being as agile.  The belly is just getting so big these days and I can't get around as easily and comfortably.
What I am looking forward to: Hopefully by this point next week I will be kidney stone, nephrostomy tube, midline, antibiotic and infection free!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Trust your gut and be confident in the decision you make.
Milestones: Baby's finger nails have reached the ends of their finger tips by the end of this week!

Out for a walk

Or should I say run.  That is for Thomas anyways.  Jason, LaLa and I head out for walks a few nights a week, I wish it was more but sometimes Daddy doesn't get home from work till late and we bike instead.  We just like to get our and enjoy the weather and burn a little of Thomas' energy before bed.  We usually go a few blocks, totally about a 1/2 mile and Thomas just LOVES it!  His little legs run so fast and every time we get back to our house he gets upset because he's not ready to go inside.  I just think it's so cute so the other night I had to bring my camera along to document this little munchkin our for his walk/run :)

Mommy Kidney Stone update

After 18 weeks with a nephrostomy tube, almost 6 weeks of a midline with iv antibiotic treatment, a skin infection treated with oral antibiotics, a uti causing bacteria which is currently being treated with oral antibiotics and about 10 tube exchanges my Dr.s have advised it is best that I attempt to remove the stone.  I've been consulting with my obgyn, infectious disease Dr. and urologist and they all have decided that it is now worth attempting to the remove the stone because of the amount of infections I've had and large amounts of antibiotics myself and the baby are being exposed to.

They are concerned mostly for the baby that if something happens after delivery and the baby needs to be treated with antibiotics that they would have a hard time treating an infection because of build up of antibodies and possible resistance.  They are also concerned that the continued large amounts of antibiotics will lead to a more serious infection of my kidney.  After weighing our options and trying to treat this kidney stone in the most conservative way possible, the plan has now changed to try and remove the stone next week.  My surgery date is Thursday April 21st at 2pm.

The plan is for the Dr. to remove the stone via laser and place a stent that will be removed within 24-48 hours after the procedure to insure all remnants of the stone are passed.  If that is not possible then he will place a semi permanent stent in my right ureter to internally drain the right ureter so that the nephrostomy tube can still be removed at the time of surgery or up to a day later, as the tube is the reason for the continued infections and antibiotic use.  Either way 48 hours the procedure is complete I can stop the iv antibiotic treatment and have my midline removed.  Both of these options will prevent more infections from forming as there will no longer be tubes coming out of my body and letting infections in.

Hopefully all goes well, the Dr. is able to laser the stone and all of these kidney and infection issues are behind Baby Amadori #2 and I.  Depending how the surgery goes they will decide how long they need to keep me at the hospital to monitor me and make sure that I do not go into labor as that is the main concern about performing the surgery being pregnant.  Being that I will be 34 weeks and 3 days pregnant on the day of the surgery the risk to the baby for preterm labor is very slim as my obgyn said that in their practice they do not stop labor after 34 weeks.

Thursday can't come soon enough and Jason and I feel this is the best decision for the overall health of myself and the baby.  Thank you in advance for all of your well wishes, thoughts and prayers!

The life...

If you are a dog in the Amadori household you have the life!  You get to sleep all day, eat twice a day, go outside and play with frisbees, go running off leash, and when Daddy is missing from his spot on the bed you get to....

SLEEP UNDER THE COVERS AND WITH YOUR HEAD ON HIS PILLOW!!  LaLa, you are one spoiled puppy!

****I promise this is how she sleeps when Daddy is traveling or leaves for work in the morning while Mommy and her snuggle.  She whines till I lift the covers, she crawls under and nudges her way up to the top and puts her head on the pillow!  NO JOKE!****

33 weeks!

How far along? 33 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 24, ummmm holy moly, maybe I'm starting to have more swelling than I realized.  This week I biked like I normally do if not more and haven't been eating as much chocolate as past weeks.  Who knows but 3 pounds in 1 week, YIKES :/
Stretch marks? nothing new as of late...
Sleep: Been a little more challenging, body is tired but mind keeps working overtime.  The weekend sleep went really well though because we were so busy during the day I was exhausted by the time 9pm rolled around.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby on ultrasound and learning that he/she is head down!  I thought that the round and hard thing I could feel near my ribs was his/her head, but it is in fact the HEAD!  Yayyyy!!
Movement: Yep!  I can tell Baby is running out of space and movement is getting more difficult for him/her and more painful for Mommy when he/she stretches out.
Food cravings: No food cravings this week.  Maybe I only had cravings in the 2nd trimester....Seem to always be thirsty this week, must be from the new antibiotic I'm on for a new skin infection I've contracted.
Gender: We are waiting till the Baby's Birthday to find out!  Feeling stronger Boy vibes this week
Labor Signs: only Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? OUT
What I miss: Eating and not feeling like I'm full within 5 minutes of my first bite.  The baby is squishing my stomach a lot more these days and I'm having to eat smaller more frequent meals.  The last week has been the first time during this pregnancy where I get light headed from not eating enough.  Hoping once I get a little further a long the baby will start to drop and eating will be more comfy, one can wish :)
What I am looking forward to: Jason's Brother and his family coming to visit.  They get here on Tuesday and are staying through the week.  We are going to St.Pete Beach for Saturday-Sunday.  It is going to be so fun to spend time with them and watch Thomas play with his cousins!
Weekly Wisdom: Holding a Toddler on your hip doesn't work too well when your 7.5 months pregnant!
Milestones: Baby is over 5 pounds!  This is very exciting because even though if I gave birth within the next few weeks the baby would go to the NICU, the fact that he/she is over 5 pounds gives him/her a better chance of not being in there as long.  According to the ultrasound we had this week he/she weighs 5 pounds 2 ounces and will be between 7-8 pounds come my 38th week which is the tentative time the Dr. is planning on inducing me depending how I'm progressing/handling everything.

Weekend at NSB

This weekend Jason, my parents and a few friends rode their bikes from Orlando to New Symera Beach.  Thomas and I met them there and we had a fun day on the beach, stayed the night and had a fun weekend with our friends.

We had a great time and Thomas loved the sand.  He played all day with his trucks and other sand toys till about 3 when our room was finally ready and he could take a nap to recharge.  It was the first time we have put him down so late for a nap and it went fine.  He was tired, but he was a trooper and it was a good lesson for Mommy to learn that its not about the schedule allll the time.  Can't wait to go back!

Swimming classes

Here are some updated pictures of Thomas and his swim class.  Today's lesson was outside because someone had an accident in the inside pool and Thomas wasn't having it!  He did not like the outside pool but swam very well although he cried the whole time.  Poor buddy.  Good news is he is swimming like a champ, kick is strong, float is solid and most of all I know that he would be safe if he felt into a pool.  I couldn't be happier with SW Aquatics and Ms. Shannon!  Soon we will start the swim, float, swim and he will learn how to get out of the pool himself instead of just floating.  Bring it on :)
