So whenever I ask Daddy to put shorts, pants, swim trunks or a swim diaper on he always ends up with them on his head.  Like this...

SW Mommies Club Play Date - June 3, 2010

The other day we had a great play date showing at our house with our friends from the SW Mommies club!  There were 8 Mommies and 11 kiddos playing about!  They all had a great time and it was the fastest 2 hours I've experience in awhile, but in a good way.  We had a blast and were very happy that so many friends were able to join us.

Survival Swimming - Day 14

I forgot my camera for Day 13 but here is Day 14 of us both in swimming class!  I was able to join Thomas in the pool and Grandma Lori was in town so we were able to have it video taped :)  He actually smiles and is having a good time while we are letting him swim back and forth to us!  It just made my day!!!!

Making and enjoying quinoa...

In my favorite baby food making book there was a recipe for squash and quinoa pilaf.  I had never had quinoa before but have heard from friends that they really like it so I thought I'd give it a try and make Thomas' first quinoa :)

Here is a picture of the concoction and the recipe:

Then here is a picture of the meal up-close:

In short, you simmer a 1/2 cup of quinoa in vegetable stock for about 20-30 minutes.  In the meantime you grate  2 zucchinis or summer squash and cook in olive oil for about 5 minutes.  You combine the quinoa, cooked squash, a 1/2 tsp of cumin and it's ready to go!  I made it my own by adding some minced garlic and butternut squash puree as I had some left over for another baby stew we made this past week.  It turned out very yummy and Thomas seems to like it's taste as well as it's chunkier consistency.

EASY, YUMMY and HEALTHY aka, a Mommy's best friend!  Here is the video of Thomas enjoying his first quinoa:

Happy 4th Birthday LaLa!

Our first baby's birthday was on Monday so Mommy made her an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie cake, which we all enjoyed while she licked her Dogster with whipped cream!

You are starting to get grey in your muzzel and it makes me very sad.  Some people think that once you have children you no longer care for your dogs/animals and that is just not the case.  There may be times where I get annoyed with you because you are always right under my feet.  Or may have yelled at you to get off the bed because of the way you think you are a dainty lap dog as you get in and out of the covers all night long, but not want you in our lives, never!  You are my, our first baby.  My first "real" big girl dog.  Your are ours and we would clone you if we could when your day comes.

I love you big girl!  Happy 4th Birthday LaLa!

Survival Swimming - Day 11

Thomas had his diaper on under his swim diaper today to start adding weight to train him how to swim/float while clothed since that is how he would probably fall in should an accident happen.  He did awesome and tomorrow we start with regular clothes :)

These pictures are from about 2 months ago but they turned out so sweet i had to post them!
